Easter Car Service
NHS Kernow is offering 111, out of hours, Acute GP service and GP surgeries, a temporary alternative transport option for those patients that you need to get to hospital but who cannot get themselves there.
The aim of providing this alternative transport is to remove the delay and ensure patients arrive in hospital earlier in the day to give us an improved chance of assessing, stabilising and discharging them on the same day without the need for admitting them.
If your patient needs to go to hospital:
Please explore first whether the patient can make their own way to hospital or be taken to hospital by friend/relation/carer
If you’re patient requires clinical intervention or observation on route use 999.
If they do not require clinical intervention or observation but they are unable to make their own way to the hospital please use the new service.
The new temporary car service is available from tomorrow (Thursday 18 April) until Tuesday 23 April. On weekdays (Thursday and Tuesday) the car service will be available between 8am and 8pm, and during the Bank Holiday (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday) between 8am and 6pm.
To make arrangements for the car service please contact 01872 252211.
