Sepsis

Consider calling 999 in patients with any red flag signs of sepsis eg

 

New deterioration in GCS/AVPU

Systolic BP <90mmHg (or >40mmHg below normal)

HR >130bpm

RR >25

O2 sats <92% (88% in COPD)

Non-blanching rash or mottled/ashen/cyanotic

Not passed urine for 18 hours

Urine output <0.5ml/kg/hr if catheterised

Recent chemotherapy

In patients who are immunosuppressed have a lower threshold for admitting via 999.
